Dazzling Norwegian
It was a gem of a brief: create an award-wining brand of ‘everyday premium’ glacial mineral water from Norway. Clearly, Isklar had to sparkle.
Blue Marlin took inspiration from the natural beauty of Hardanger, the water’s source region, the folklore and stunning nature of which informed all aspects of the brand, from its name and brand identity to its stunning crystalline bottle.
The mineral water and design industry were so enchanted by the new design that it was awarded several awards including the Grand Prix at the 2008 Water Innovation Awards and a Gold at the 2009 Pentawards.



‘Friluftsliv’
Like the bottle itself, the brand has many aspects. As the sports bottle is the fastest growing format in mineral waters, we thought to bring the concept of ‘friluftsliv’ (a Norwegian term for ‘living in the great outdoors’ which we had embedded in the brand) to life on the sporty 750ml pack.

Enchanting
And on the kids pack, we created a whole gang of trolls (which folklore tells us inhabits the local fjords) with characters and personalities ready for turning into promotional stories.
